Earlier this year Beeston Shenton hosted an Open Day for the locals to come in, meet the team, and have a bit of a chat about any legal concerns they needed help with. On the day, we were assisted by the team at Acrylic Digital, another local business, who came down to film some video of the event.

During the Open Day Acrylic’s Social Media Specialist, Izzy Ford, took a moment to catch up with our amazing legal team and get to know us a little better. Here are her impressions from the day…

After attending the Beeston Shenton Open Day on the 8th September 2018, I was amazed by the success and the sheer volume of people attending it. As it was a free advice open day, it was a great opportunity to get involved and get advice from professionals, that I and other members of the community needed to ask free of charge. They had a variety of solicitors there, specialised in areas like Family Law and Wills and Probate, which allowed any questions to be answered directly from a lawyer who knows the industry. Whilst I was there, I managed to have a quick chat with some of the legal team, including Paul Shenton, Liz Mayer, Pam Murphy and also Beth Stanway.

Paul Shenton – Director, Family Law Solicitor

Local family man Paul is a family lawyer specialising in financial divorce proceedings and relocation proceedings, which involve cases where children are being taken to another country, either on a permanent or temporary basis.

“We have a really great team, everybody is very helpful and the customer service we offer is very good. Everybody mucks in and gets on with each other over our 3 offices and as a result of this we all work well as a team.”

Liz Mayer – Property Executive

Liz works within the Conveyancing department at Beeston Shenton, helping people as they’re buying and selling properties, as well as handling shared ownership leases, leasehold properties, and right surrounding buying new build properties.

“I really enjoy working at Beeston Shenton mainly because of my colleagues. I love my colleagues and my assistant Kimberley, who is brilliant, my right-hand lady!”

Pam Murphy – Wills And Probate Senior Solicitor

As a Wills and Probate solicitor, Pam is responsible for drafting wills for people and preparing lasting power of attorneys. In addition to these responsibilities, Pam also administers clients’ estates and does some court of protection work.

“The best thing about working at Beeston Shenton is that we all work as a team, I think that’s the main thing, and the directors are absolutely amazing, they are really caring and look after us all.”

Beth Stanway – Wills And Probate Assistant

Bright and bubbly, Beth works as a Legal Assistant in the New Build team. She’s twenty-two and fresh out of Chester University. Her role in the team is offering assistance to everyone, whether that means making a will, or helping them with probate, she’s sensitive to the difficulties of the situations that bring people to Beeston Shenton, and is always there with a helping hand and a smile.

“I love Beeston Shenton just because it’s helped me grow so much, I came here as a student at university and now I’m on the path to becoming a solicitor, hopefully in a few years, fingers crossed! There’s so much support here, everyone is always so friendly and we are always here to help with a smile.”
