The increase in Stamp Duty for second homes is now only weeks away. Anyone buying a second property in England Wales and Northern Ireland ( after 31st March 2016) will be hit with an extra 3% stamp duty bill.
Only houseboats, caravans, homes under £40,000 and some multiple purchases are exempt.
For example if you buy a second home valued at £200,000 before the 1st April your stamp duty will be £1500 AFTER 1st April the total bill will be £7500!!
Not great news for Buy to let investors, those buying for their children or holiday homes.
