Meet Our Experts – Anthony Beeston

In the lead up to our Legal Open Day on September 8th, we’ve been talking to some of our
experts who will be giving their advice for free at the event.
If you have any questions on family law, Director and Family Law Solicitor Anthony Beeston
is the one to look for. He’ll be on hand with an understanding ear, ready to help you with any
queries, worries or challenges.

How long have you worked at Beeston Shenton?
14 years

What do you do?
I am a director in the practice and as such I am involved in the day-to-day management of
the firm. I am a solicitor with almost 18 years of experience in dealing with Family Law
matters.

Most commonly asked questions in your specialism
1. What am I entitled to receive from the matrimonial assets on separation and divorce?
2. What rights do I have to see my child?
3. How do I go about starting a divorce?

What are the biggest pitfalls clients should avoid in divorce proceedings?
There is a growing trend in people dealing with their own divorces. Whilst we would not seek
to discourage that we do find that those individuals fail to appreciate the importance of
entering into a legally binding financial order to address the financial issues in the case.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given
Never make any assumptions

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy meeting clients face-to-face and providing advice. At the first meeting clients
are often upset and anxious about the future, but at the end of the process they are able to
start afresh and move to a new chapter of their lives. I do find it is rewarding to help clients
on that journey.

Biggest career achievement

I could list a few. I have dealt with some high value asset cases and really complex matters
which are personally rewarding for me as a professional.

Our Legal Open Day will take place on Saturday, September 8th, from 10am to 4pm at our
Newcastle-under-Lyme offices. Solicitors from our Wills and Probate, Conveyancing and
Family Law teams will be on hand offering free advice. If you need help in any of these
areas, drop-in for a friendly chat and a cup of tea.
