A charity football match took place between teams representing Beeston Shenton and JCB on the 21st April 2017, read on to find out more about the funds raised and the great cause it supported.

The match was the first of several charity events agreed to be held between a team representing Beeston Shenton and the JCB team, with more 11 aside matches, a 6 aside tournament and Paul Shentons “Run to work” event.

This first event successfully raised £110.80, with all funds raised going to Staffordshire Specialist Safeguarding Units. These units are in acute need of funding for the excellent work that they do, supporting the poorest of families over the demanding Christmas period.

The games are a way of getting people to get involved and play the sport they love whilst supporting disadvantaged children. Many of whom are not expecting a single present this Christmas and are members of families that can’t afford a Christmas dinner who stand to be potentially removed from their untenable living conditions.

Well done to everyone who took part and helped raise funds for such a good cause. We’ll provide more information on forthcoming events as soon as details are finalised.
